The Case for the European Single Currency and for the UK Joining It

In: The Impact of the Euro

Author

  • Giles Radice

Abstract

I believe that there is a strong economic and political case for European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU), that the negative arguments are far weaker than the positive ones, and that, now that the single currency is going ahead on schedule, the United Kingdom should join, partly because of the advantages of being in, partly because of the disadvantages of remaining out.
