Summary and Closing Remarks

Abstract

We have now come to the conclusions of our research. We started from the consideration, now widely accepted in scientific circles, that historically, power in companies and in society has been exercised by those who possessed the scarcest and most difficult factor of production to obtain. It is also an accepted fact that, in the course of time, a change in the importance of the factors of production resulted in a corresponding ‘shift’ in power from one factor to another. In our work, we initially analysed the ways power was used in firmsand in society by landowners, in the period from the Greek city-state to the First Industrial Revolution.
