Abstract

Tripartite industrial cooperation, which refers to cooperation between enterprises from the socialist countries of Eastern Europe, the developing countries and the developed market-economy countries, though a fairly recent phenomenon, has quickly become of interest to business circles, governments and international organisations. The need to ensure that this form of cooperation benefits the developing countries seems to be generally accepted, as is attested by the attention accorded to it in a recent United Nations resolution 3362 (S-VII) and in policy documents issued by other international bodies.
