Abstract

The reputation Robertson established in the 1920s, as an outstanding professional economist — and one moreover with a highly individual writing style — and as a gifted amateur actor, gave him his public face. But these were not the whole of his life. He had other interests and activities that, taken together, provided agreeable elements of intellectual amusement in engaging company and undemanding duty.
