    Este trabajo analiza los factores que explican el rendimiento académico de los escolares peruanos que están terminando la educacións ecundaria; de modo más específico, enfatiza las características directamente vinculadas con el docente. Además, apunta a la identificación de las variables que generan la ventaja que los estudiantes provenientes de colegios privados obtienen frente a sus pares de los públicos.
