Solidarität durch Umverteilen oder Teilhabe am Markt? Eine Abwägung unter Berücksichtigung der katholischen Soziallehre

Abstract

It is commonly accepted that human beings should stand up for each other which leads to the call for the rich supporting the poor. For the lack of confidence in private helpfulness public redistribution for the disadvantaged is asked for. This article justifies why it is generally better and fairer to show solidarity by giving those in need the possibility to participate in the market instead of redistributing funds in their favour. The argumentation takes Christian moral concepts into consideration. (Original text only available in german language)
