Abstract

Chapter 3 is devoted to the explained part of the gender wage gap. It considers the characteristics which are most frequently analysed, including education, horizontal and vertical occupational segregation, technological changes, trade union membership, maternity status, civil status, age, and work experience. It also presents empirical studies that consider each of these characteristics.
