Abstract

Directive 2014/17/EU of 4 February 2014 on credit agreements for consumers relating to residential immovable property (the Mortgage Credit Directive - MCD) aims to and promote financial stability and enhance consumer protection in the area of credit agreements relating to immovable property. It seeks to create a level playing field for creditors and credit intermediaries and to promote their cross-border activity.
