Governance, integrity and sustainability - joining the dots?

Abstract

Discussions in the international arena are dominated by all matters relating to sustainability in recent years. Nevertheless, notwithstanding the increasing interest and debate in the various global fora and business circles, relatively less attention has been given by scholars that would facilitate a more integrated approach to issues relating to the governance of companies, matters of integrity and development. This is due to the siloed way in which research has been conducted thus far and the complexity that any attempt to integrate the existing independently established research streams would bring. This chapter discusses the recent developments in research and thought leadership, and highlights a number of issues to be added to the growing research agenda, from a legal/institutional perspective.
