Poverty measurement and stochastic dominance

Abstract

In this chapter, we provide an updated review of the literature on poverty orderings. Our review focuses more on the new research advanced in the twenty-first century. The research further consolidates the relationship between poverty orderings and stochastic dominance and affirms the important role that stochastic dominance plays in poverty measurement.
