Abstract

The text addresses the mutual interactions between youth transitions and youth cultures, considering changes in the lifestyles of young people as drivers of change in the transition processes to adult life. To do this, we begin by situating the historical context of the diffusion of the youth culture in the last third of the twentieth century. The central part of the text analyses the transformations in the models of youth transitions and of youth cultures. We conclude with a reflection on the context of the twenty-first century and the kind of emerging youth cultures and lifestyles within the information society.
