Suchthaftes Arbeiten und Gesundheit: Empirische Befunde für Deutschland

Abstract

Suchthaftes Arbeiten stellt in Deutschland kein Randphänomen dar und ist über unterschiedlichste Berufsgruppen hinweg verbreitet. Auf Basis einer groß angelegten Erwerbstätigenbefragung untersucht die vorliegende Studie detailliert die Zusammenhänge zwischen suchthaftem Arbeiten und Gesundheit. Dabei zeigt sich, dass suchthaft Arbeitende nicht nur in erhöhtem Maße psychosomatische und körperliche Beschwerden aufweisen, sondern auch seltener eine ärztliche Behandlung aufsuchen. Die Befunde haben Implikationen für einzelne Betroffene, aber auch für Betriebe und Gesellschaft.
