Die ÖTV und die Altenpflege seit den 1970er Jahren: Stagnation in einer Wachstumsbranche

Abstract

Die Study stellt die Frage nach den Gründen für die schwache gewerkschaftliche Interessenvertretung der Altenpfleger:innen. Sie zeichnet die kurze, aber ereignisreiche Geschichte der ÖTV und ihrer gewerkschaftlichen Arbeit im Feld der erwerbsförmigen Altenpflege von den 1970er Jahren bis 2001 nach. Dabei wird deutlich, mit welcher Energie und Tatkraft Altenpfleger:innen bereits in den 1980er Jahren ihre Interessen vertreten haben - aber auch, welche berufs- und sozialpolitischen Hindernisse sich im Ringen um eine stabile Interessenvertretung in der Altenpflege immer wieder auftaten.
