Branchenanalyse Stahlindustrie: Entwicklungstrends und Zukunftschancen

Abstract

Die Stahlindustrie kann in Deutschland als "Rückgrat" des Industriestandorts und die entsprechenden Wertschöpfungsketten bezeichnet werden. Als Werkstoff kommt Stahl in vielen Wirtschaftszweigen zum Einsatz. Auch ist die Stahlindustrie noch immer ein großer und wichtiger Arbeitgeber in Deutschland. Jedoch muss sich die Branche steigenden Herausforderungen stellen: Der massive Kapazitätsaufbau zur Stahlproduktion in den vergangenen 20 Jahren hat den globalen Stahlmarkt aus dem Gleichgewicht gebracht. Weitere kostenseitige Belastungen entstehen durch neue regulatorische Vorgaben, wie die von der EU angestoßene (Neu-)Ausrichtung der Rahmenbedingungen zur Reduktion von Treibhausgasemissionen. In der Studie werden neben einer vertieften Analyse der Markt-, Beschäftigungs- und Arbeitssituation in der Branche, Anknüpfungspunkte für Zukunftschancen der deutschen Stahlindustrie skizziert.
