Psychisch gestört oder arbeitsbedingt krank? Mehrfache Chemikalienunverträglichkeit (MCS), Lösemittel-Syndrom und Bk 1317

Abstract

Was ist mehrfache Chemikalienunverträglichkeit - die so genannte Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS)? Handelt es sich um 'eingebildete Kranke' oder sind die psychischen und physischen Störungen auf die Einwirkung unterschiedlicher Chemikalien zurückzuführen? Welche Symptome sind typisch für dieses Krankheitsbild? Viele Indizien deuten darauf hin, dass die Krankheit durch Chemikalien ausgelöst wird. Professor Maschewsky stellt in seiner Studie fest: Diese Erkrankungen sind in erster Linie berufsbedingt. Darunter sind besonders Berufsgruppen vertreten, die in ihrer Arbeitsumgebung in starkem Maße dem Kontakt mit Chemikalien bzw. deren Einwirkung ausgesetzt sind. Die Broschüre wendet sich an Betroffene, Beschäftigte und die betriebliche Interessenvertretung und geht darauf ein, wie sie sich verhalten und ihre Interessen durchsetzen können, damit Betroffene und ihre Familien nicht wg. Erwerbs- und/oder Arbeitsunfähigkeit eines Partners noch zusätzlich zu den starken Belastungen ihrer Erkrankung 'verarmen' und sozial ausgegrenzt werden. Was lässt sich zum Anerkennungsverfahren bei den Berufsgenossenschaften sagen? Zur Veranschaulichung der Darstellung werden 16 Fälle exemplarisch beschrieben.
