Eine Stadt - getrennte Welten? Sozialräumliche Ungleichheiten für Kinder in sieben deutschen Großstädten

Abstract

Kinder können sich die Verhältnisse, in denen sie aufwachsen, nicht aussuchen. Deshalb hat der Staat eine besondere Verpflichtung, gerade ärmeren Familien unter die Arme zu greifen und Bedingungen zu schaffen, die Kindern und Jugendlichen ein gutes Leben ermöglichen. Doch die Infrastrukturen für Bildung, Freizeit, Gesundheit und Kultur sind nicht überall gleich. Die vorliegende Studie hat deshalb anhand von sieben Städten untersucht, wie Versorgung und Teilhabechancen von Kindern und Jugendlichen innerhalb der Städte gegeben sind. Die Ergebnisse zeigen: Die Infrastrukturen sind zwar ausreichend vorhanden, aber nicht bedarfsgerecht verteilt.
