Abstract

Die Einkommen in der Landwirtschaft sind sehr volatil, da sie durch natürliche Ertragsschwankungen und stark fluktuierende Weltmarktpreise landwirtschaftlicher Güter mitbestimmt werden. Viele Landwirte werden finanziell geschädigt, wenn die Produktpreise zu niedrig sind, um die variablen Produktionskosten zu decken. In Österreich zeigten 78% der Landwirte, die zu ihrer Einstellung gegenüber Risiken befragt wurden, Interesse an einer Versicherung oder einem ähnlichen Instrument zur Vermeidung solcher Schäden. Digitale Informationssysteme können entsprechende Marktinformationen rasch verfügbar machen. In der vorliegenden Studie wird ein neuartiges Finanzinstrument zur Reduktion des Preisrisikos auf den europäischen Agrarrohstoffmärkten analysiert, das einen Mindestpreis für die Kulturen Weizen, Raps und Mais garantiert. Für Bündel potenzieller Mindestpreise zeigt die Auswertung, wie wahrscheinlich ein Schaden eintreten kann.
