Abstract

Der vorliegende Policy Brief gibt einen Überblick über die bestehenden rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen für den Elektrizitätssektor auf EU-Ebene. Mit Fokus auf Elektrizität wird diskutiert, inwieweit die aktuelle Rechtslage bereits für einen Ausbau erneuerbarer Energien im Einklang mit den bestehenden Klimazielen der EU geeignet ist. Schließlich werden Optionen für eine Anpassung des energiepolitischen Rahmens der EU im Kontext rezenter Entwicklungen, insbesondere dem Krieg in der Ukraine, erörtert.
