Prognose ausgewählter Wirtschaftsbereiche auf einer wöchentlichen Frequenzskala

Abstract

Die österreichische Bundesregierung hat für den 19. Mai 2021 umfangreiche COVID-19-Öffnungsschritte angekündigt. Diese betreffen unmittelbar tourismusnahe Aktivitäten, den Bereich der Gastronomie sowie den Veranstaltungs- und Kulturbereich. In diesem Bericht wird ein Versuch unternommen, die Effekte aus der Rücknahme der Restriktionen im Laufe des Monats Mai für unterschiedliche wirtschaftliche Bereiche zu quantifizieren und darauf aufbauend eine Prognose zur Entwicklung der Wertschöpfung bis Ende August 2021 (konkret bis einschließlich Kalenderwoche 34 2021) auf einer wöchentlichen Frequenzskala zu erstellen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt hierbei auf den Wertschöpfungsbereichen "Handel; Instandhaltung und Reparatur von Kfz" (ÖNACE 2008, Abschnitt G), "Verkehr" (ÖNACE 2008, Abschnitt H), "Beherbergung und Gastronomie" (ÖNACE 2008, Abschnitt I) und "Sonstige private Dienstleistungen" (ÖNACE 2008, Abschnitte R bis T) der Entstehungsseite der Volkswirtschaftlichen Gesamtrechnung. Insgesamt ist von den hier analysierten Wertschöpfungsbereichen ein Beitrag zum gesamtwirtschaftlichen Wachstum von bis zu 3 Prozentpunkten zu erwarten. Dieser Beitrag beschränkt sich jedoch vorwiegend auf die Monate Mai und Juni 2021 und somit auf die Wochen im Umfeld der Öffnung. In der Folge dürfte die Dynamik in diesen Sektoren von anderen – in erster Linie der Industrie – überlagert werden.
