Abstract

Der Einblick in die ökonomischen Folgen von Arbeitsunfällen und arbeitsbedingten Krankheiten liefert Entscheidungsträgern und Stakeholdern die Grundlage für die Entwicklung von Präventivmaßnahmen und Politiken zur Erhöhung der Sicherheit und des Gesundheitsschutzes am Arbeitsplatz. Der vorliegende Bericht knüpft an einen von der Europäischen Agentur für Sicherheit und Gesundheit am Arbeitsplatz (EU-OSHA) entwickelten Ansatz an und ermittelt für Österreich die Folgekosten der tödlichen und nicht-tödlichen Unfälle und Erkrankungen, die auf Belastungen und gesundheitliche Risiken in der Arbeitswelt zurückzuführen sind. Eine umfassende Bewertung der arbeitsbedingten Krankheitslast berücksichtigt direkte, indirekte und intangible Kostenkomponenten.
