Abstract

This project was part of the WIFO-led Framework Contract and provided one of the background studies for the European Competitiveness Report 2013. It was conducted in cooperation with Idea, IWE and WERI. The research team studied the current policy instruments which could be used to better exploit EU's research and innovation on the market. It investigated which sectors of the economy are strong performers and which are lagging behind in terms of research exploitation and identified the policy instruments that are used within member countries and the non-member competitors and that could be suggested as good practices for implementation at the EU level.
