Abstract

Most of the debate on ageing has centred on how to ensure long-term financial sustainability. Much suggests that we have allowed ourselves to get too bogged down in demographic and actuarial arithmetic at the expense of grander visions of a good, just and productive society in which, as it happens, ageing looms large.
