Abstract

In der Ökonomie des Wassers werden verstärkt Marktmechanismen eingesetzt, um die effiziente Allokation und nachhaltige Verwendung von Wasser sicherzustellen. Der methodische Ansatz der Studie strebt eine Synthese zwischen Konzepten der ökologischen Nachhaltigkeit, der ökonomischen Theorie und des Einsatzes anreizorientierter Instrumente sowie der Anwendung ökonometrischer Methoden an. Zur Analyse des Einsatzes ökonomischer Instrumente in der österreichischen Wasserpolitik und der (ökonomischen) Effizienz der Wasserwirtschaft werden die wirtschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen untersucht sowie internationale Erfahrungen und Richtlinien für eine nachhaltige Nutzung der Ressource Wasser dargestellt.
