Prognose für 2008 und 2009: Rohölpreishausse beschleunigt Inflation und dämpft Wirtschaftswachstum

Abstract

Die österreichische Wirtschaft wird im Jahr 2008 real um 2,3% wachsen. Das BIP expandierte im I. Quartal getragen von Sachgütererzeugung, Bauwirtschaft und Tourismus noch stärker als im Frühjahr erwartet. Nun schwächt sich die Konjunktur allerdings ab. Dazu trägt nicht zuletzt der markante Auftrieb der Weltmarktpreise für Erdöl bei, der eine deutliche Beschleunigung der Inflation (2008 auf 3,5%) bewirkt. Dies belastet die verfügbaren Realeinkommen der privaten Haushalte und bremst das Wachstum der Konsumausgaben beträchtlich. Die von den USA ausgehende Dämpfung der Konjunktur in den Industrieländern wird in Österreich die Ausweitung von Export, Industrieproduktion und Investitionen bremsen. Für das Jahr 2009 wird deshalb ein Anstieg des realen BIP um nur noch 1,4% erwartet. Heuer nimmt die Beschäftigung rasch zu. Für 2009 zeichnet sich eine beträchtliche Steigerung der Arbeitslosigkeit ab.
