Abstract

El primer tomo de este esfuerzo colaborativo para producir la historia del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú (BCRP) y de su política monetaria cubre el periodo que empieza con el advenimiento del siglo XX hasta 1990, año donde se produce un cambio de régimen de política económica en general y del BCRP en particular. La banca central en el Perú tiene su inicio con la fundación del Banco de la Reserva del Perú un 9 de marzo de 1922. A partir de este momento la historia económica del Perú está fuertemente ligada a la política económica gestada por el Banco Central tanto en los momentos aciagos como en los momentos de éxito.
