Abstract

Este libro es una exploracisn de las posibilidades del desarrollo sustentable, dentro del marco de una economma abierta al mercado mundial y con un Estado en proceso de reduccisn de sus funciones. La recuperacisn de andenes prehispanicos y la construccisn de terrazas representan un incremento del capital fmsico y natural de tierras de cultivo y de agua generando efectos positivos. Los autores han volcado en el su preocupacisn por contribuir a generar en el campo una igualdad de oportunidades para el desarrollo. Al mismo tiempo, este estudio constituye un esfuerzo por mostrar las posibilidades y, sobre todo, las limitaciones de los proyectos o intentos que se despliegan actualmente para impulsar el desarrollo rural, muchas veces basados mas en la buena voluntad antes que en la realidad. Es necesario buscar vmas de desarrollo sustentable que sean factibles, aunque sus metas no parezcan hoy mas modestas.
