Abstract

Este libro se centra en la importancia del juicio, la exigencia y la honestidad en el desempeño de los científicos y profesionales, pues es sobre la base de la iniciativa, el aporte y la competencia científica y profesional que una sociedad puede construir una situación de justicia, de equidad o de posibilidad de realización personal para todos. De ello proviene la preocupación por la universidad como centro de formación humana y de ciudadanía que privilegia el cultivo de conocimiento y métodos para crearlos, acrecentarlos y difundirlos. La universidad debe formar ciudadanos competentes y éticos, y, por eso, capaces de servir a la sociedad sin comprometer sus legítimos intereses, su dignidad o su responsabilidad, y sin renunciar a la competencia personal y el sentido ético.
