Abstract

Las contribuciones de este volumen se corresponden con la diversidad y riqueza del trabajo de Javier Iguiñiz: desde las preguntas de la economía clásica hasta el enfoque de las capacidades, pasando por la evaluación del debate entre economistas sobre qué es el desarrollo y qué rol juegan las instituciones en él; del desarrollo humano al pensamiento social católico. en ida y vuelta; y de la reflexión académica a la discusión (¡y defensa!) de políticas de desarrollo y activismo social concretos. El voluemen es un homenaje a la persona y a su obra, y es una muestra de la influencia, la cercanía y el diálogo fecundo con colegas, estudiantes, lectores y compañeros de ruta. Finalmente, destaca y celebra el compromiso vital de Javier Iguiñiz por poner la economía al servicio del progreso de la sociedad.
