De la Caridad a la Solidaridad

Abstract

El libro está organizado en cuatro secciones: Filantropía tradicional; Caridad y voluntariado en tiempos modernos; Ejerciendo la ciudadanía: los voluntarios y el Estado; y, Filantropía y responsabilidad social: el papel de las empresas. Los trece estudios reunidos en este volumen se ocupan de temas que van desde una exploración conceptual acerca de la noción de solidaridad, hasta un estudio de la naturaleza y montos de las donaciones e incentivos tributarios para promover mayores iniciativas sociales entre las empresas, pasando por una aproximación crítica del trabajo voluntario que realizan grupos organizados en los campos de la salud, la educación, los derechos políticos, la fiscalización ciudadana y el deporte. La aspiración común de todos los trabajos aquí reunidos es la de contribuir a la expansión de nuestro conocimiento sobre la naturaleza de la sociedad civil peruana y, más específicamente, de los esfuerzos asociativos que realizan los ciudadanos en defensa de sus derechos políticos y por mejorar los niveles de bienestar colectivo de la población más desprotegida.
