Abstract

In the book, we present a complete derivation of a specific tool for assessing technological capability of production firms from the appropriate initial conceptualization of technology and firm's technological capability, as well as from the new model (dimensions and parameters) of firm's technological capability. Development of this new assessment tool is described, together with its form and contents, and validation of the tool by means of several structured interviews with technical management in selected Slovenian production firms is provided. A description of the technological capability assessment process in 269 Slovenian production firms in 2013 is provided. Key statistical inferences for the selected sample of firms are presented, as well as practical implications of technological capability assessment. At the end, the book's most important scientific contributions are demonstrated.
