Abstract

Understanding the full extent of the toxic load experienced by people in their everyday lives, and coming up with new methods of tackling the problem, are key questions in the field of public health. This collection brings together some of the most cutting-edge knowledge regarding these issues. Two chapters focus on air pollution: one on the aspects of indoor air pollutants and their impacts on health, while the other considers traffic-related air pollution in terms of legislation. Other contributions address urea pesticides, and the impacts on public health of both heavy metals and atmospheric nanoparticles. Finally, the book includes a review on the potential adverse health impacts of carbamate pesticides. This book will be essential reading for policymakers and environmentalists.
