    Este libro es un cásico instantáneo que merece un lugar de honor junto a los clásicos fundacionales urbanos de Harvey, Castells, y Logan y Molotch. Lo que estos autores hacen por Marx, la información digital y las estructuras de poder político.El autor explica la importancia de la incertidumbre radical, las creencias convencionales, las decisiones cruciales y los circuitos monetarios en la creación de ciudades y comunidades urbanas, en una interpretación que hace justicia a la profundidad y a la sutileza de las ideas de Keynes, Shackle y otros pensadores economistas ilustres.El análisis de Abramo aporta los elementos claves para la comprensión de la crisis de producción y reproducción urbana, con especial énfasis en la fragilidad de los mercados urbanos comerciales y de vivienda. El trabajo de Abramo vaticina la subprime crisis de la economía americana y muestra que las crisis económicas en tiempo real son, necesariamente, crisis urbanas en espacios diferenciados; de manera que recuperar el crecimiento sostenido implica crear ciudades sostenibles.
