Equidad en salud. Un análisis desde la mortalidad diferencial por régimen de aseguramiento en Bogotá, 2001

Abstract

La equidad en salud debe ser uno de los pilares para la construcción de la equidad social en Colombia, teniendo en cuenta las grandes diferencias socioeconómicas existentes entre los diferentes grupos de población y el incremento en los niveles de pobreza observado en los últimos años. La Ley 100 de 1993 realizó una compleja reforma en salud que buscaba garantizar a toda la población colombiana el aseguramiento en salud, la distribución equitativa de los recursos, la accesibilidad a los servicios de salud en condiciones de calidad y eficiencia. Diversos estudios en los últimos ocho años han realizado la evaluación de los servicios de salud prestados a la población afi liada al Sistema de Seguridad Social en Salud teniendo en cuenta básicamente aspectos de cobertura, pero en muy pocos casos se ha evaluado la calidad, la efi ciencia del servicio y la diferencia en la prestación del servicio entre los dos regímenes.
