La migración interdepartamental en Colombia. Un estudio demográfico según el censo de 2005

Abstract

Este libro aporta a la descripción de la migración interdepartamental en Colombia en el periodo 2000-2005. En el caso de algunos departamentos colombianos, el componente que más interviene en el crecimiento y estructura de la población es la migración interna. Sin embargo, el subconjunto de la migración internacional puede contrarrestar la migración: interna y afectar el saldo migratorio total. Haciendo alusión a lo mencionado, es necesario observar los dos componentes demográficos de manera paralela, aunque su medición llegue a ser muy compleja. El estudio elaborado en el Centro de Investigaciones sobre Dinámica Social (CIDS) presenta cuatro capítulos que describen el comportamiento de la migración interna en Colombia. El primero detalla las características de los flujos migratorios interdepartamentales en el periodo 2000-2005. El segundo y tercer capítulos demuestran la contribución de la migración interna al crecimiento poblacional de los departamentos colombianos y la intervención de este factor demográfico en las estructuras poblacionales por edad y sexo. El último capítulo evidencia la selectividad de la migración por las características sociodemográficas de los migrantes y su comparación con la población en general. El presente estudio promete suplir la necesidad de actualizar investigaciones sobre la migración interna en Colombia.
