Mecanismos de transmisión de la política monetaria en Colombia

Abstract

La transmisión de la política monetaria, entendida como el mecanismo a través del cual las tasas de interés y los otros instrumentos de política monetaria determinados por el Banco de la República afectan a las principales variables macroeconómicas, especialmente el producto y la inflación, son el tema principal de este libro. Una de las más importantes tareas para cualqueir banco central es la de investigar y analizar continuamente cómo sus acciones se les trasmiten a los ciudadanos, a las firmas y a los hogares de su país. Este libro es único, ya que compila estudios empíricos sobre el mecanismo de transmisión de la política monetaria de un país, dejando a los autores de cada capítulo la libertad de estimar cada aspecto con la metodología más apropiada.Hoy en día es tan importante hacer la investigación como comunicar los resultados y estimular el debate fuera del banco central, y para la Junta Directiva del Banco de la República este libro es una forma de cubrir estas necesidades.
