Abstract

La edición original de este libro vio la luz en París en octubre de 1999, en un momento en el que la coyuntura financiera estaba dominada por el alza espectacular de los títulos de la “Nueva Economía”. Para la mayoría de analistas de ese entonces, dicha alza tenía sus raíces en la revolución informática que había hecho entrar de manera durable a las economías desarrolladas en una nueva era de crecimiento. De allí que, lejos de ser visto como provisional, el incremento de las cotizaciones fuera concebido como la manifestación de una tendencia alcista de largo plazo producto de la transformación profunda de los factores económicos fundamentales por efecto de las nuevas tecnologías de la comunicación y de la información.
