Educación superior internacional comparada: escenarios, temas y problemas

Abstract

Esta obra asume como principal objetivo referirse al acceso, expansión cuantitativa, masificación y diferenciación de las instituciones de educación superior, a la significación de las reformas universitarias en el ámbito de las universidades públicas y privadas y de sus repercusiones en relación con los procesos de gestión, financiamiento, evaluación y acreditación; reflexionar en torno a temas claves como el ranking, las denominadas universidades de nivel mundial (world-class universities), la corrupción académica y la crisis de la situación del profesorado y de las universidades; proyectar algunos escenarios posibles de evolución de la educación terciaria; iluminar el dilema entre una internacionalización solidaria, a partir de la visión de la educación superior como un bien público, y la tendencia creciente hacia la transnacionalización mercantilista vía nuevos proveedores; y ofrecer algunas conclusiones que pudieran contribuir a formular políticas en el espíritu de lo recomendado por la Unesco en la Conferencia Mundial de Educación Superior y en posteriores reuniones de seguimiento de dicha conferencia. Esta visión global comparada nos permitirá comprender mejor los dilemas del financiamiento y la acreditación.
