Sociedad de la información digital: perspectivas y alcances

Abstract

La sociedad de la información se caracteriza, entre otros aspectos, por contener adaptaciones al desarrollo tecnológico y nuevos servicios, como parte de la convergencia entre las telecomunicaciones, la tecnología de la información y los medios de comunicación: se observa un movimiento mundial dirigido a aprovechar al máximo los servicios que la tecnología nos ofrece. Por servicios de la sociedad de la información, el Parlamento Europeo y el Consejo de la Unión Europea han entendido aquellos prestados a distancia, por vía electrónica y a petición individual, incluido, en su definición, el elemento “remuneración”. La sociedad de la información y los servicios que de ella se desprenden, entre ellos el comercio electrónico, influyen de manera transversal en los ámbitos sociales, culturales, económicos, y de esa manera repercuten en las situaciones o relaciones jurídicas. Por lo anterior es de interés para los agentes del comercio, locales e internacionales, conocer la influencia de la sociedad de la información y la implementación de las nuevas tecnologías según los modelos comerciales, las exigencias técnicas y sus consecuencias jurídicas.
