Abstract

"Este estudo tem como objetivo refletir de forma sistemática sobre os desafios e as oportunidades de desenvolvimento da infraestrutura econômica do setor de telecomunicações. Ele surge como parte de uma das ações no Projeto Perspectivas do Desenvolvimento Brasileiro, mais especificamente o Plano de Pesquisa e Publicações "Eixos do Desenvolvimento Brasileiro", série de dez grandes documentos de referência em torno dos eixos temáticos em discussão, a serem debatidos e produzidos pelo Instituto de Pesquisa Econômica Aplicada (Ipea) ao longo do triênio 2008-2010. O setor de telecomunicações é aqui analisado como pertencente à "infraestrutura econômica, social e urbana", umas das sete grandes dimensões de análise ou eixos estruturais para o desenvolvimento nacional."
