Universalizar el acceso a las tecnologías digitales para enfrentar los efectos del COVID-19

Abstract

Este Informe Especial es el séptimo de una serie que elabora la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) sobre la evolución y los efectos de la pandemia de COVID-19 en América Latina y el Caribe. En él, se examina el papel clave de las tecnologías digitales en la pandemia provocada por el coronavirus y cómo las brechas de acceso, asequibilidad y velocidad de redes profundizan las desigualdades y vulnerabilidades de la población de la región. Asimismo, se analizan los avances y limitaciones de la digitalización y revisa cómo las soluciones digitales reducen el impacto de las medidas de contención del virus, como la cuarentena y el distanciamiento social. El documento propone, además, medidas en el área de la conectividad y la economía digital para una reactivación inclusiva.
