Abstract

Este libro, publicado por Siglo XXI Editores en México, fue coordinado por Wilson Peres, Jefe de la Unidad de Desarrollo Industrial y Tecnológico, División de Desarrollo Productivo de la CEPAL. En él, se analizan las respuestas estratégicas de las grandes empresas y grupos nacionales a las señales emitidas por las reformas económicas y los cambios en el patrón de industrialización de América Latina en el decenio de los años noventa. En seis estudios nacionales, se revisan la organización y la estrategia de esas unidades empresariales en cinco países grandes y medianos de la región: Argentina, Brasil, Colomibia, Chile y Mëxico. En un capítulo de síntesis, el coordinador presenta el marco general en que operan esas empresas, las conclusiones que se derivan de las experiencias nacionales y los principales desafíos que éstas plantean a la política pública.
