Abstract

Este estudio, elaborado por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI) y el Centro Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Demografía-CELADE-División de Población de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe-CEPAL, analiza la transición de la movilidad, la evolución de la migración interna en el Perú y sus características a nivel departamental, provincial y distrital, utilizando los Censos Nacionales de Población y Vivienda de los años 1993, 2007 y 2017. El documento cuantifica, describe y examina la migración interna, tanto en términos empíricos, como teóricos y de política. Para ello se aplican diversos procedimientos especializados tendientes a estimar la intensidad de la migración interna, a precisar su selectividad y a calcular cuatro efectos territoriales sociodemográficos: crecimiento, redistribución, composición y desigualdad.
