Abstract

El sector agrícola está altamente relacionado con el clima y, por lo tanto, se espera que sea uno de los más afectados por el cambio climático. América Latina y el Caribe es una región muy diversa en términos tanto agroecológicos como socioeconómicos y demográficos, por lo que las estimaciones sobre los efectos que se podrían presentar en la región son muy variadas. Para el caso específico de los países del Caribe, aun cuando existen algunos estudios, persiste una escasez de análisis sobre los impactos potenciales del cambio climático en la agricultura. El objetivo de este estudio es contribuir a cerrar esa brecha de información. Los resultados muestran la elevada vulnerabilidad de las actividades agrícolas frente al cambio climático en la región del Caribe.
