Abstract

El presente documento da continuidad al proyecto "Desigualdades territoriales y exclusión social de pueblos indígenas y afrodescendientes de América Latina", desarrollado en el Centro Latinoamericano y Caribeño de Demografía (CELADE); - División de Población de la CEPAL, con financiamiento de la Fundación Ford. El objetivo general del proyecto ha sido contribuir al fortalecimiento de la capacidad del Estado y el empoderamiento de grupos sociales excluidos, como los pueblos indígenas y afrodescendientes, para el desarrollo de políticas públicas focalizadas territorialmente, tendientes a la promoción de la equidad social y económica y el cumplimiento de sus derechos. En este contexto, este diagnóstico presenta el análisis de indicadores de las condiciones de vida, con el apoyo de mapas temáticos mediante los que es posible identificar la localización territorial de los pueblos indígenas y afrodescendientes hasta el nivel municipal (o equivalente);.
