O Investimento Estrangeiro Direto na América Latina e no Caribe 2021. Resumo executivo

Abstract

Em um contexto de grave crise sanitária, econômica e social gerada pela pandemia da COVID-19, a América Latina e o Caribe receberam 105,48 bilhões de dólares de investimento estrangeiro direto em 2020, 34,7% a menos que em 2019, 51% a menos que o recorde histórico alcançado em 2012 e o menor valor desde 2010. Em âmbito mundial, os valores de investimento estrangeiro direto (IED) caíram 35% em 2020, atingindo aproximadamente 1 trilhão de dólares, o que representa o valor mais baixo desde 2005. América Latina e Caribe está em tendência de queda desde 2013, o que tem deixado em evidência a relação entre os fluxos de IED e os ciclos de preços das matérias-primas, principalmente na América do Sul.
