Abstract

Claus Köhler war im Kreditgeschäft tätig. Er war Mitglied des Vorstandes einer deutschen Finanzierungsgesellschaft und in Personalunion Mitglied des Verwaltungsrats einer Schweizer Finanzholding. Nach seiner Habilitation übernahm er einen Lehrstuhl für Volkswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Hannover und war Mitglied des Sachverständigenrats zur Begutachtung der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Entwicklung. Es folgte eine Tätigkeit als Mitglied des Direktoriums und des Zentralbankrats der Deutschen Bundesbank. Danach war er Vorsitzender des Finanzausschusses im Verwaltungsrat der Treuhandanstalt und der Bundesanstalt für Vereinigungsbedingte Sonderaufgaben. Schließlich war er Mitglied eines Board of Directors zweier Investmentfonds in New York sowie Mitglied eines Advisory Panels der Zentralbank des Sultanats Oman.
