Auswirkungen der Wirtschaftskrise auf die Innovationstätigkeit der Unternehmen

Abstract

Die heftige konjunkturelle Krise, die im Herbst 2008 begann und bis zum Jahresende 2009 anhielt, veränderte die Rahmenbedingungen für Innovationen grundlegend. Zum einen wurde das Umfeld für die Einführung neuer Produkte merklich unfreundlicher, da bei rückläufiger Nachfrage und erhöhtem Preisdruck die erfolgreiche Platzierung von Neuheiten mit meist höheren Preisen im Vergleich zu Vorgängerprodukten beträchtlich schwerer fällt. Zum anderen verschlechterten sich die Finanzierungsbedingungen aufgrund gesunkener Gewinne oder zum Teil erheblicher Verluste. Gleichzeitig war die Zurückhaltung von Kreditgebern bei der Finanzierung risikoreicher Vorhaben groß. An den Finanzmärkten boten sinkende Kurse und nervöse Anleger ein schlechtes Umfeld für die Ausgabe neuer Aktien oder Anleihen.
