Abstract

Das Statistische Bundesamt vergibt seit 1999 Förderpreise an junge Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler, seit 2022 den wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchspreis "Statistical Science for the Society". Der Name zeigt die Internationalität des Preises und bringt zum Ausdruck, dass sowohl die akademische als auch die amtliche Statistik dem Gemeinwohl verpflichtet sind. Mit dem Wissenschaftspreis "Statistical Science for the Society" werden Nachwuchskräfte ausgezeichnet, deren Forschung Methodenprobleme mit einem engen Bezug zum Aufgabenspektrum der amtlichen Statistik behandelt, oder empirische Fragestellungen unter intensiver Nutzung von Daten beantwortet.
