Die Zukunft sozialwissenschaftlicher Surveys und Panelinfrastrukturen

Abstract

Sozialwissenschaftliche Surveys bleiben im Zeitalter von Big Data wichtig: Sie sind repräsentativ und decken relevante Themen mit wissenschaftlich validierten Messinstrumenten ab. Sie ergänzen amtliche Daten, da sie auch Einstellungen und Persönlichkeitsmerkmale messen, sowie durch langlaufende longitudinale SurveyDesigns. Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über sozialwissenschaftliche Survey- und Panel-Infrastrukturerhebungen in Deutschland und Europa. Zudem werden erwartbare Innovationen skizziert: Die Zunahme webbasierter Erhebungsmodi bewirkt einen Innovationsschub, der unterjährige Erhebungen und experimentelle Komponenten in Surveys erleichtert. Lebens- und verhaltenswissenschaftliche Konzepte und Mikrodaten anderer Datensätze werden stärker mit sozialwissenschaftlichen Surveys verknüpft werden.
