Das Lohngefüge in der Bundesrepublik. Ergebnisse der Gehalts- und Lohnstrukturerhebung vom November 1951

Abstract

Die ständige Weiterentwicklung des statistischen Programms und der Methoden der amtlichen Statistik hat Tradition in Deutschland, ebenso die Dokumentation dersel- ben in WISTA. Im Jahr 2022 hat eine neue Verdiensterhebung die drei ehemaligen Verdienststatistiken in Deutschland abgelöst (Finke/Geisler/Überschaer, 2023). Der folgende Beitrag aus unserer Reihe Rückblende beschreibt die Methodik der Gehalts- und Lohnstrukturerhebung 1951, einer der umfassendsten Statistiken der Nachkriegszeit. Die groß angelegte Erhebung ging weit über die üblichen Meldungen der Arbeitgeber hinaus und machte erstmals Differenzierungen nach Wirtschaftszweig, Region, Qualifikation, Art der Tätigkeit und Geschlecht möglich. Der Artikel ist erstmals in der Ausgabe 7/1953 von "Wirtschaft und Statistik" erschienen (Seite 293 ff.).
